Disclosures
Compensation & Conflict Disclosures
In accordance with the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) disclosure policies, this section outlines our disclosures as a registered insurance broker at Canadian Insurance Brokers Inc. (CIBI).
Our role is to provide our clients with optimal insurance value combining the right coverage, service and cost.
At CIBI we also provide personalized, quality service that includes professional insurance advice, ongoing policy maintenance, claims support and client advocacy. When any issue arises regarding your insurance coverage, we’re there for you as your advocate, using our professional experience to best represent your interests.
Consistent with industry practice, we receive compensation (“commission”) as part of your insurance premium or as a separate fee. Separate fees will always disclosed and agreed to by our clients. The range of compensation for each company and class of business varies. Details are available to you at any time should you request them.
Some, but not all, of the insurers and partners we represent may pay us additional commission that we refer to as contingent profit commissions or referral fees. Payment of this contingent profit (not guaranteed) commission is payable on our property, casualty or automobile business lines (but not for group benefits & retirement planning). The contingent profit commission depends on a combination of the following factors: growth, profitability (loss ratio), total volume, retention and increased services that we provide on behalf of the insurer for a designated period of time. Contingent profit commission is not guaranteed nor is it the same calculation for each company.
We are not owned, funded or financed by any third party entity such as Insurance Companies.
We are a completely independent insurance brokerage based in Toronto, acting on the behalf of our clients.
